From Theory to Practice: Intensive Class Multiple Linear Regression Batch October 2024

The Intensive Class on Multiple Linear Regression was successfully held on October 29, 30, 31, 2024. The event was officially opened by Ms. Ani Wahyu Rachmawati, S.Psi., M.S.M., Director of the Research Synergy Institute. During the opening session, Ms. Ani emphasized the importance of advanced statistical techniques, such as multiple linear regression, in data-driven decision-making and research. The class provided participants with in-depth knowledge and practical skills, bridging the gap between theory and application in real-world data analysis.

The first session of the Intensive Class on Multiple Linear Regression was held on October 29, 2024, and was led by Gita Hindrawati, S.Tr.M., M.S.M. In this session, Ms. Gita provided an insightful introduction to multiple linear regression, covering its core concepts and practical applications. The session also included hands-on training on setting up data in SPSS, ensuring participants gained a solid understanding of how to organize and prepare data for analysis. Additionally, key topics such as the validity and reliability of data, as well as the classical assumptions underlying regression analysis, were thoroughly discussed. This session laid the groundwork for the more advanced topics to be covered in the following days, ensuring a strong theoretical and practical foundation for all participants.

The second session of the Intensive Class on Multiple Linear Regression took place on October 30, 2024, and focused on essential topics related to data treatment and regression analysis. Participants were introduced to various data treatment techniques, including how to handle missing data, outliers, and ensure data quality before analysis. The session then moved on to Simple Regression, where the foundational principles of one-variable regression analysis were explained, providing participants with a clear understanding of how to model the relationship between two variables. Finally, the class explored Multiple Regression, where the complexity of analyzing multiple predictors in a single model was discussed. Practical examples and hands-on exercises helped participants gain a deeper understanding of these techniques and how to apply them in real-world data analysis scenarios.

The third and final session of the Intensive Class on Multiple Linear Regression was held on October 31, 2024, and focused on advanced analytical techniques and the essential elements of reporting. The session began with an in-depth exploration of Path Analysis, where participants learned how to model complex relationships between multiple variables and understand direct and indirect effects within a system. This was followed by a discussion on Moderation Analysis, where the role of moderator variables in influencing the strength or direction of relationships between independent and dependent variables was thoroughly examined. To wrap up the class, the session included an overview of Reporting Guidelines, providing participants with valuable insights on how to effectively present their analysis results. Key aspects of statistical reporting, such as clarity, transparency, and proper interpretation of findings, were emphasized to ensure participants could communicate their research with precision and professionalism.

We are thrilled to share that “Session 1 of the Intensive Course: Crafting a Systematic Literature Review & Publishing in International Journals, October Batch,” took place on October 3, 2024. The event commenced with an enthusiastic introduction by Ani Wahyu Rachmawati, S.Psi., M.S.M., who set an encouraging and dynamic tone for all attendees. Following her opening remarks, the session delved into the fundamentals of Systematic Literature Reviews (SLR) and highlighted the key elements that contribute to a successful SLR.

Setyowati Triastuti Utami, Ph.D., from Gadjah Mada University, led a session on developing research questions and objectives. This session emphasized the importance of establishing clear research objectives, which are crucial for steering any research endeavor. Dr. Triastuti illustrated how well-defined objectives can improve the clarity and focus of a study. To facilitate practical application, she guided participants through an interactive exercise on selecting and articulating research objectives. This engaging format fostered collaboration and enabled attendees to practice formulating objectives that align with their research goals, ultimately providing them with essential skills for their academic journeys.

During the second session on October 17, 2024, the focus shifted to Search Strategies for conducting systematic literature reviews (SLR). This meeting addressed effective search techniques and examined various databases and search engines frequently utilized in literature searches. Participants gained insights into crafting effective search strings, including the use of keywords, Boolean operators, and truncation methods. The session also covered strategies for refining search approaches to ensure the retrieval of relevant results, equipping attendees with vital skills for effectively navigating the extensive realm of academic literature.

At the third meeting on October 28, 2024, the focus turned to the Study Selection Process. This session emphasized the significance of establishing robust study selection criteria and introduced the procedures for screening and selecting studies, including both inclusion and exclusion criteria. Participants also explored the data extraction process, concentrating on how to systematically extract data from the chosen studies that comprised their sample. Additionally, the session offered guidance on creating effective data extraction forms and maintaining consistency throughout the extraction process, equipping attendees with essential tools for systematically analyzing their selected literature.

The fourth meeting of the Intensive Class on Systematic Literature Review was held on October 31, 2024. In this session, participants engaged in thorough discussions about the key stages of conducting systematic reviews, including the formulation of research questions, comprehensive literature search strategies, and effective data extraction techniques.

At the end of each meeting, participants are given homework assignments to reinforce the topics discussed. This strategy ensures that by the conclusion of the intensive class, attendees are thoroughly prepared to submit their final papers. 2024 RSF International Service Program: Moving Forward the Quality of Research Into World-Class Publication

On the 2nd of March 2024, the JPL Hall of Freedom at the Lyceum of the Philippines University was abuzz with intellectual discourse and collaborative energy as the Research Synergy Foundation (RSF) and Lyceum of the Philippines University co-hosted the 2024 RSF International Service Program. Themed “Moving Forward the Quality of Research Into World-Class Publication,” the event aimed to enhance the quality and impact of research through insightful discussions and practical strategies.

The event commenced with an opening by the Research Synergy Foundation, setting the tone for a day filled with enriching sessions. The Lyceum University Philippines, as co-host, delivered a warm welcome, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in advancing research and academic excellence.

One of the highlights of the program was the keynote address by Dr. Hendrati Dewi Mulyaningsih, who spoke on “Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges: Achieving Philippines Global University Recognition through International Collaboration.” Dr. Mulyaningsih’s insights shed light on the significance of international partnerships in enhancing the reputation and standing of Philippine universities on the global stage.

Following the keynote, Santi Rahmawati, ST., MSM, shared her expertise on “Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges: Initiating an International Exposure, Recognition, and Knowledge Exchange through International Conference.” Her presentation emphasized the role of international conferences as platforms for knowledge exchange and academic networking.

Ani Wahyu R, S.Psi., MSM, then presented on “Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges: A Roadmap to Publishing in International Journals, Navigating Journal Quality, and Amplifying Writing Productivity.” Her session provided valuable insights into the publication process and strategies for increasing writing productivity.

William Loh from Emerald Publishing delivered a session titled “Cultivating Excellence in Emerald Publishing: Why Publishing is more than Publication.” He highlighted the importance of quality research and publication ethics, emphasizing that publishing is not just about disseminating research but also about maintaining academic integrity.

The program concluded with a session by Barry Clark from Taylor & Francis Asia Pacific on “Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges: Navigating Taylor & Francis’s Pathway to Success and Unlocking Future Opportunities.” Mr. Clark shared valuable insights into the publishing process with Taylor & Francis, providing attendees with a roadmap for successful publication in international journals.
