In a bid to foster academic excellence and guide aspiring researchers on the path to SCOPUS publication, the Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) organized the “Navigating Doctoral Program UNAIR 2024: Road to SCOPUS” workshop. This enriching event, held at Ruang Majapahit, lantai 5 Gedung ASEEC Tower Kampus B, Jl. Airlangga, Surabaya, proved to be a pivotal moment for 115 participants from various majors and fields.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Prof. Dr. Fendy Suhariadi, M.T., Psikolog, offering his insights and encouragement to the eager participants. His opening remarks set the tone for a day filled with valuable discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions.
The first session of the day, titled “Global Research Ecosystem Introduction & How to Write a Good Scientific Paper,” was led by the distinguished Dr. Hendrati Dwi Mulyaningsih. Dr. Mulyaningsih delved into the intricacies of the global research landscape, emphasizing the importance of quality scientific writing for successful publication.
Following this, Ani Wahyu R took the stage to enlighten the participants on “Identification of Reputable and Predatory Journals.” An essential aspect of navigating the academic landscape, understanding the credibility of journals is crucial for researchers aiming for SCOPUS publications.
The event took an exciting turn with Santi Rahmawati’s presentation on “F1000research (SCOPUS indexed journal) Publication Model.” Rahmawati shared insights into the dynamics of publishing in a SCOPUS-indexed journal, offering participants valuable strategies and best practices.
The workshop continued with a session on “Combining AI in Writing a Research Paper Ethically & Introduction of E Coaching Program 2024” by Ani Wahyu R. Integrating artificial intelligence ethically into research paper writing is becoming increasingly important, and this session provided participants with practical knowledge and tools for incorporating AI in their work.
The event also shed light on the NWU E-Coaching Clinic Series 2023, covering topics such as “How to Understand Review Results,” “Research Methodology & Review Discussion,” “How to Choose Scopus/DOAJ/International Indexed Journals,” and “Developing Action Plans.” These discussions aimed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of doctoral research successfully.
